I’m so glad I’m not female
This post was inspired by the Quiner’s Diner’s article “I’m so glad I’m not Black”. [edit: Since this post was published Mr Quiner of the Diner has amended the title and some of the original content of his post, in order to make it less offensive, I assume. I’m not sure if this is a victory for brain cells, or an inadvertent aid to his harmful crusade.]
I’m a man, and I’m grateful for that.
For the record, it has nothing to do with misogyny. I admire and appreciate the significant contribution women have made to the world. My family claims a woman living in South Africa as an unofficial family member.
As every great philosopher encouraged us to do, I judge a person by the content of their character, not by outward appearance.
But let’s be honest, women as a group are daily victims of cruelty and heartlessness that makes it difficult to be female.
Take salaries. Women are faring worse, a lot worse, than men.
The average full-time female worker in the UK earns 15% less than her male colleagues, and this jumps to 35% for part-time workers. This is certainly a multi-faceted problem. But there’s no doubt that, on average, women are treated differently from men. The ruling UK Conservative party shows its commitment to this disparity by ensuring there no women on its main policy and strategy committee; only 15% of the full cabinet are female; and only 18% of their MPs.
Take security. Around 25% of British women will be a victim of domestic violence in their lifetimes. Over 400,00 women are sexually assaulted every year. A woman would be much safer never entering into a relationship with a man.
What happened?
Simply put, welfare. Liberal elites erected a network of programs that profoundly changed women. Some programs worked well; some didn’t. But ultimately, the multi-trillion dollar Great Society Programs replaced dependence on men with a welfare cheque, to the detriment of women.
The systematic destruction of the family has led to an explosion of social pathology amongst our brothers.
It gets even worse when you look at birth rates. In India, up to 6 million females have been aborted in the past decade. In some Chinese provinces the imbalance between the sexes runs at a ratio of 130 men to 100 women. Females are low value offspring in too many cultures.
Today, women enjoy more political clout than at any time in our history. There are currently 19 world leaders who are female – almost 10%! And yet with their growing political clout, they continue to overwhelmingly support men, who promote the very policies that have been so deleterious to achieving equal rights.
Male politicians garnered some 80% of the female vote despite the fact that they promote human abortion as a way of controlling unwanted human beings; they care little for the challenges women face; and they support and expand welfare programs that breed dependence and stagnation.
The political philosophy of men and their very male elites has been poison to women.
With friends like that, who needs enemies?
And people wonder why I am a radical feminist?

What does that entail? I consider myself a feminist but it involves little more than the occasional rant. I need to up my game.

Not much. Not changing your name if you get married to become Mrs Someone’s Possession, wearing a wedding ring, high heels or make-up. Or shaving your arms. Or doing anything that suggests you are a willing sex object or owned by a man Ensuring you don’t use gender-specific language or language that discriminates against women – I have a lot of posts on that one, not on roughseas but on my clouds blog. Nearly forgot, supporting a woman’s right to do what she wants with her own body. And that means abortion if she chooses.
Disclaimer: I may have forgotten a few things.

Nope. No sane person has to wonder why some women become “radical feminists”. Instead of trying to change the alleged inequality hat exists between men and women, feminists blame the “patriarchy” then demand men change everything for them.
Sorry, ma’am, but so-called “radical” feminism is just a euphemism for what actually poisons everything it touches. Real feminists don’t just find some alleged misogyny then whine about it on the internet, they get out and work their butts off change.

It’s not alleged, there are more statistics than you can poke a sexist stick at to prove it.
Feminists do not blame the patriarchy (apart from Twisty of course whose rumblings go over my head), feminists identify patriarchal society as the root cause of the problem.
We don’t demand men change everything for us. We would like society as a whole t progress towards some sort of equality, regardless of sex, race, creed, green antennae whatever
Ma’am? I’m neither royalty nor Stella Rimington.
Real feminists work at change however they can best do that. And if that means writing on the internet to a wide audience then that’s a good start. Clearly there are lost causes. Of which you are one.

Are you going to post this video on all my posts that criticise men? I don’t mind, it’s perfectly relevant, but just so I can expect it. 🙂

I really haven’t given it a great deal of thought – you’re certainly free to post it yourself, if you like.
So I take it it’s your intent to post a great many more criticisms of men? I’m not sure just what to make of that —

Well, to be honest, this post was criticising Mr Quiner. Men were incidental casualties. 😉

OH, I like this, you clever thing. I think these “mirror posts” are frightfully effective. Hope Tom reads it… But then again, like Debilis, he never dares stray outside the confines (and security) of his mothers basement.

Question, John – is that a euphemism for “womb“? Or merely symbolism? Sometimes I get those two mixed up —

Symbolism, i think 🙂

I’m glad you popped over to critique. I can’t believe it hasn’t received more vitriol from anywhere. It’s disgustingly patronising.

He’s been reading Proverbs this week I expect. Something about not engaging fools must have stuck in his head. And he didn’t realise who was the fool.

There seems to be a certain amount of coy racism in some of his posts. I cannot place it but it just feels uncomfortable.
A bit like askthebigot: you just sense something is not right.

I’m so pleased you like it! His post was so mind-numbingly painful read, I thought I’d reward it by amending it ever so slightly with facts about women, but coming to the same illogical conclusions about American politics. He did read something, if only the title, because he’s amended his title to be less offensive. Looks like he didn’t actually get round to amending any of the content, although I’ll leave that accusation hanging in my edit to see if it tempts him out of Bates’ basement. 🙂

Ah, yet another social justice warrior representing what “feminism” has been reduced to – whining about how allegedly bad women’s lot is in life.
What next? Teach men not to rape? Lol…

And what, might I ask, is remotely funny about rape?
Violet. Have you found a new troll?

Or has a troll found you? Weird, I’ve never attracted any before, and to such an old post. When people without blogs post such nonsense I think it’s best to ignore them. Clearly attention seeking.

I am sorry Violet, if I am in a habit of giving attention to “trolls”, but I do not get it. Maybe it is my bad English skills. And I am a curious person.
What might you Sean mean by “What next? Teach men not to rape? Lol…” and how is that connected to your critique about “feminism”? What is bad for fighting for social justice? Do you not know, that women and men are not dealt equally, though there is no other reason to oppress women exept tradition (often in the guise of religion, wich gives it seemingly approval of an imagined supreme authority of gods and other such nonsense) and simply, that men can do it? Would it not be a good idea to teach men not to rape? Most men are taught this along when our sense of justice developes, but there are – obviously – those men who have not been taught it… Right?
