a song conveying the pain of romantic love
If you think my posts have been going downhill recently, they’re about to take another nose-dive. I’ve never done a song post before, but this song is ringing round my head and I’d like to share it in other people’s heads. Lianne La Havas is probably my favourite current singer, an amazing musician with a stunning voice. This song reminds me the pain of breaking up, the irrational pain of romantic love that we find so hard to separate from the chemicals causing it.
I haven’t heard Liane La Havas before. She does have a fantastic voice. Beautiful song. While we’d like to think we are rational creatures, we certainly can be completely irrational in some respects.

I love her stuff, and think her voice and melodic arrangement of songs is verging on perfect. I found it weird that this song transports me back to the last time I was heart-broken, I usually feel immune to that kind of thing.

Haha, it’s nothing glamorous and certainly nothing to get excited about. There’s a streak of mild Aspergers in my family – not sure if I inherited some or caught on through observation and imitation.

I see. I have a nephew with Aspergers. He certainly has a different way of relating to the world. Do you find it odd that others experience it differently. He has a pronounced form of Aspergers and can’t relate emotively. He reminds me of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory.

Yep! Just like my dad and brother (although shouldn’t say that because my brother might lurk). Female Aspergers is quite different, and I don’t tick all the boxes, so I’m not sure where to separate environment from genes. I find it all incredibly interesting though.

It’s a nice enough song (*for a depressing piece of whining), but it doesn’t fit into the kind of day we’re having down here in sunshine-and-fruitland.
Now, don’t be foolish. I liked your songs, liked them a lot if the truth be told. If I sanctify them as our Cults only musical accompaniment will you relent?

Well, I just heard thunder so i supposed a dirty great storm is on its way, but that’s nice in itself. maybe i’ll listen to that song again as its pouring down and everything is grey and forlorn, and hope has disappeared under a rock named Floyd.

Don’t try and fit in with Scotland. Brazilian rain is happy rain, nothing like the endless windy drizzle up here. A short burst of explosive, refreshing excitement.

I am a hopeless romantic, thus this song and video really got me. The forest and the lake are so beautifull.
I have been going throug some very similar emotions as this song represented by listening to the Angels of Venice version of an ancient trobadour melody from Languedoc – the A Chantar Mer’ – over and over again.
